October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and Lindstrom Air Conditioning and Plumbing are working hard with our South Florida neighbors to support the fight to end breast cancer. The world has been changed by a global pandemic in 2020, but cancer doesn’t stop for COVID-19, and neither will we! Learn more about how our team is helping to support breast cancer awareness virtually this fall.
Virtual More Than Pink Walk
Lindstrom is proud to be a sponsor of the upcoming virtual More Than Pink Walk on Saturday, Oct. 17, in Miami, FL. As a Promise Partner for this year’s walk, we will donate a portion of each service call run in October to the Susan G. Komen Foundation of Miami/Ft. Lauderdale for breast cancer research and patient support. Even by just scheduling your regular fall maintenance visit, you can help find a cure and make a real impact against breast cancer.
To participate in the 2020 More Than Pink Walk, you can sign up to help raise funds and support the foundation. Participants can view the virtual opening ceremony at 9:00 a.m. to celebrate the great progress being made, and then we will all set out on our neighborhood sidewalks at 9:30 a.m. We may not be able to walk side by side, but we still can come together virtually to save lives.
Hitting close to home
Studies show that about one in eight individuals will develop invasive breast cancer. However, the patient support and scientific research made in part by the Susan G. Komen foundation and generous donors like you has led to a 40% decline in inpatient mortality from 1989 to 2016.
Our commitment to cancer research
“Cancer touches everybody in some way, and we’re no exception here at Lindstrom,” says Jeff Lindstrom, president. “We’ve lost family, friends, and loved ones. We feel it’s important now, more than ever, to show our support for all who are affected by cancer.”
“At Lindstrom, we’re proud to be partners with the Komen Foundation of Miami/Fort Lauderdale,” says Lindstrom. “The work they do is incredible, from raising funds for research to helping people get to their appointments on time. It’s all-important. I encourage all local business leaders to get involved, whether it’s donating their money or time.”
Thank you to all of our industry friends and our loyal customers who are helping us raise awareness in preventing and curing breast cancer. When we come together, even virtually, we can make a big difference. Don’t forget to schedule your October visit at (800) 813-1824 to help donate to the Komen Foundation with your service call!
