Coconut Creek, FL, October 27, 2010 – Lindstrom Air Conditioning is sponsoring, for the 4th consecutive year, the “Keep Memories Alive Walk.” This year, Majic 102.7 Radio, will join them in support of this worthy cause. The fifth annual “Keep Memories Alive Walk”, supporting the Caring Hearts Auxiliary of Florida Atlantic University’s Louis and Anne Green Memory and Wellness Center, is scheduled to take place on Sunday, November 7th at 9.a.m. This year’s walk is dedicated in memory of Carl Lindstrom founder and former president of Lindstrom Air Conditioning, and loving husband to co-chair and Board Member/Treasurer Debbie Lindstrom.
The “Keep Memories Alive Walk” is a black tie affair that raises money for the Louis and Anne Green Memory and Wellness Center. “The Black Tie Walk Affair is a lighthearted, festive event that continues to grow in popularity and exceed our expectations,” Patricia Thomas, Caring Hearts Auxiliary president. “It’s such a great event for friends and family to get together, dress in causal ‘black tie’ costumes, and have fun in support of the families in our community who are coping with memory loss.” The funds raised enable the center to provide financial support to Day Center participants and caregiver support programs.
The Memory and Wellness Center is located on Florida Atlantic University’s Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing. The center offers a range of services and programs to help individuals with mild to moderate memory disorders, including Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia. The Day Center provides an active and secure place for families to bring spouses or parents who are experiencing memory loss, and the caregiver support programs have a positive impact on life at home.
Deborah Lindstrom, Carl’s wife states, “This center offered incredible support for Carl through evaluations, educational classes, counseling and even caregiver programs for me.”
Deborah is co-chairing the fifth annual “Keep Memories Alive Walk” along with help from her stepson, Doug Lindstrom (Co-Owner at Lindstrom Air Conditioning). This year the Lindstrom family is also being honored for their years of support and involvement with the center.
Doug Lindstrom states, “The Louis and Anne Green Memory and Wellness Center has been a part of our lives since 2004 and we are honored to be a sponsor for this annual event. We hope this year’s walk will draw more walkers and sponsors so that other families will benefit from the same wonderful support that we had.”
