Pompano Beach, FL (December 2012) –Lindstrom Air, a locally owned and operated business since 1975, is pleased to announce that is has begun  to offer an innovative duct sealing process, Aeroseal, that has been endorsed by the United States Environmental Protection Agency as one of the most beneficial energy technologies available today.

Joe Canosa, General Manager of Lindstrom Air says, “Most ducts allow between 20% and 40% of the cool air produced by their air conditioner to escape due to leaks, holes, and bad connections.  As a result, a significant amount of the money most homeowners pay a utility company is wasted.  Duct sealing is the single best thing you can do to increase your energy efficiency and lower your utility bills.”

Aeroseal’s technology was developed in conjunction with the EPA and the Department of Energy, and can seal holes in ductwork that are as big as 5/8 of an inch, with a 90% effective rate.  The average home with sealed ducts saves about $300 per year. The effects of sealing are immediate and the seal is warranted for ten years.

“The process is simple,” states Canosa. “First, a technician seals all of the vents in the home and forces air through the system to evaluate the amount of air leakage.  Then, adhesive particles are sent through the ducts to find and seal the leaks.  These particles do not coat the ducts, they simply fill in any gaps they find as they move through the system. Last, the technician forces air through the system again to ensure that the sealing is complete. The homeowner receives a computer-generated report of how much air leaked before and after the sealing was complete. The whole process takes between four and eight hours.”

Most homes have some sort of air duct leakage but are unaware of it; unlike water from a leaky faucet, you can’t see the air leaking from your ductwork.  Sealing ducts can help solve uncomfortably hot or cool rooms, excessive humidity, excessive dust, musty odors or fume smells, and increasing energy bills.

“Aeroseal’s process is state-of-the art. It’s great for improving comfort, saving money, and helping the environment.  It’s an investment that pays for itself quickly and has immediate results.  We think it will be a great help to homeowners in our area and are pleased to be offering it,” continues Canosa.
